Friends, to be consistent with other local community efforts to deter the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, we have made the difficult decision to end the 2019-2020 season one week ahead of schedule, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Here are the important details:
-All public skating sessions (including Sunday, 3/15) are CANCELED.
-Keene Youth Hockey Player Evaluations scheduled for this week are POSTPONED; re-schedule dates for the Summer will be announced as soon as possible.
– All  stick times are CANCELED.
-Learn to Skate Sessions for 3/16, 3/19 & 3/23 are CANCELED. Participants will be issued a credit for those sessions and will be contacted in the coming weeks by the skating director.
-Freestyle skating sessions for Monday 3/16 are ON but have been moved to 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
-The KFSC Under the Sea SKating Show scheduled for 3/21 & 3/22 is POSTPONED; make-up dates will be announced as soon as possible.
-The arena will CLOSE for the season at 10pm on Monday, 3/16/2020.
-Despite already being one of the cleanest recreation and event facilities in New England, Keene ICE has taken extra precautions to protect our community members who have participated in activites at the arena over the last several days or will be on Sunday and Monday which include the installation of additional hand sanitizer stations, “bleach bombing” doors, handles, benches & other items frequently touched by the public, additional cleaning regimen for public & locker room areas and the removal of coffee & condiment dispensers and other utensils from public areas.
-For community members with events or activities at the arena on Sunday & Monday, we ask are making 3 simple requests:
1. If you are or have been ill, please do not come to the rink.
2. Please wash your hands and utilize hand sanitizer stations before coming to the rink and while at the rink.
3. Please limit close personal contact with other attendees at the rink.
-The ice will be out from 3/17/2020 until mid-June 2020 when our Summer schedule begins. We will continue to monitor community health developments and will revise these plans if necessary.
-During the ice out session, we perform regular and preventative maintenance of the building including a deep cleaning as well as hosting a number of excellent community events at the arena. The Monadnock Women’s Expo (originally scheduled for 3/28/2020) has been RE-SCHEDULED for Sat, 5/16/2020. Other scheduled events will be evaluated on an event-by-event basis with event organizers taking best available information into account and decisions will be posted.
