Noah King developed his love for skating on the local ponds and outdoor rinks throughout the Monadnock Region. At the age of 11 or 12, Noah became a youth hockey player in Keene, and later skated for Keene High School. Like many New Englanders, hockey remained a passion for Noah into adulthood, and he played in leagues in Boston in the years following high school. While Noah had a love for all sports, hockey was his favorite, and his love for skating never ceased. Whether watching a game, playing in high school, or just skating on the pond, he found great joy, and created great memories, from skating.

Tragically, Noah lost his life much too early, and left behind a loving family and many friends. The Noah King Scholarship was created by Noah’s family and friends, in tribute to Noah, to provide financial support, in the form of a $500 scholarship (awarded annually), for a child who is interested in playing youth hockey in the Keene Youth Hockey organization. The goal is to create an opportunity, which might not otherwise exist, for a child to participate in the Keene programs and, like Noah, develop a lifelong love of the game.

The Noah King Scholarship will be awarded annually to a child enrolled in any of the Keene Youth Hockey programs. The awardee will be selected from all of the Scholarship applications received by November 30th of the year.  All applications received by that date will be reviewed.  The Scholarship will be awarded by the Board of Keene Ice based on this review, in accordance with the requirements and considerations stated in the application.
